When we see our people as the heart and soul of our winery we open up a huge space for them to contribute to its growth and development. Seeing people as valuable contributors from the get-go instills confidence and allows the full potential of each and every one of Truett Hurst’s team members to be fully expressed. From the vineyards, winemaking, and administration to the hospitality, gardening, and guest services staff, we hope to infuse our passion and love for winegrowing into every Club member and guest experience of our beautiful Estate, and in every communication we share. We challenge ourselves to act in ways that benefit those with whom we work, support the communities in which we do business, protect and sustain the environment, and provide an authentic and enlivening experience for all who visit.
Every person we have spoken to in our visits to the winery has gone out of their way to make us feel at home. Your staff really is the best.
I feel very fortunate to live and work in such a beautiful place with great people. I have a passion for cooking, so when I am not working I enjoy a great glass of Zinfandel while cooking dinner. It’s truly my happy place after a long day.
The thing I love most about living in Sonoma County is being part of this vibrant community. Working alongside talented people in the wine industry, I get to witness what I believe to be the perfect marriage of agriculture, art, science, community, and friendship. Over my time with Truett Hurst, both customers and colleagues alike have become dear friends with whom I’ve shared many wonderful memories.
I do not consider myself a wine expert but I do know a good glass of wine and Rockpile is one of my favorites. It’s smooth and not too dry. For fun I like to have a date night with my hubby. Having 4 kids doesn’t give us much alone time so any chance we get we take it. Going to a nice Italian restaurant and sharing a bottle of wine is a perfect evening of fun.
The thing I love most about living in Sonoma County is how small town it feels even though our population is quite large! My entire family is from this area and I always feel as though I’m running into a familiar face around town. Some of my favorite things to do here are grabbing a sandwich at The Dry Creek General Store on my way out to the Russian River, hiking one of the many trails available in this area, or stopping at Freestone Artisan Cheese on my way out to the coast for the day.
My favorite thing about working at Truett Hurst is interacting with the employees and customers. It feels like one big happy family. My favorite motto is: Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Whatever choice you make, makes you. Choose wisely.
My favorite Truett Hurst wines are the Rooster and the Southdown, because I really enjoy the darker fruit flavors that are aged with notes of vanilla. My idea of heaven on earth is spending time at Sea Ranch where I read up on Quantum Physics and Space-Time, create delicious dinners with my family, and end the day with a trail hike or walk on the beach.
The thing I love most about Sonoma County is that there’s a little bit of everything so close to the country. Great wines all around, especially ours. Great restaurants, awesome food, outdoors, the beach nearby, and the snow a little further up the road. And Lake Sonoma! Love taking the family out there and enjoying a nice glass of wine, preferably our Luci Zin.
While all the Truett Hurst wines are great, my favorite is the Osprey Cabernet. On my days off, I love to go hiking and be in the mountains. My first job was as a farmhand at a dairy.
During my downtime, I like to go mountain bike riding through Annadel state park, and the best part about Sonoma County are the multitude of state and regional parks that everyone can enjoy.
My favorite part about working at Truett Hurst is that I get to wear many hats. From pouring in the tasting room, to assisting Mario in the gardens, or caring for our animals, you can find me just about anywhere on the property. A love for the land, our people, and our animals is truly what makes this more of a dream than a job.
I am a Sonoma county native who has lived in wine country my whole life. For fun my husband and I love driving out to Bodega Bay for Spud Point crab sandwiches and walks through Bodega Head State Park; often concluding with a glass of wine at Sonoma Coast Vineyards. I studied modern dance in college, and I wanted to be a professional choreographer. I choreographed a piece that was selected to be performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. My favorite Truett Hurst wine so far is the Black Sheep Pinot.
My favorite Truett Hurst wine is the 2017 Estate Zinfandel because of its bold and rich flavors, and the reason I love working here is because of the wine, the guests, and the grounds. In addition to wine tasting, I like to recommend that our visitors be sure to see our beautiful Sonoma County beaches and check out all the great local restaurants.
My favorite Truett Hurst wine is Southdown. It’s rich in flavor and very smooth. It also has a deep cherry note which I love. During my downtime I like to spend time with my grandkids.
I’m not from Sonoma County originally but now love calling it my home. I have a BA in psychology and Studio Art, and I knew nothing about wine when I first entered the industry. My favorite Truett wine to enjoy would be our Rattler Rock Zinfandel, I love the notes of boysenberry and cherry and how well balanced it is. Exploring nature or making art is what I like to do in my free time.
One of my favorite TH wines is GPS! I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was growing up. I enjoy meeting different types of people, learning the history of wines and BIODYNAMIC farming. My favorite thing to do in Sonoma county is exploring outdoor activities with my 7 year old daughter.
