2016 Dragonfly Red Field Blend


Winemaker's Notes

Red Blends have been wildly popular in the US for many years now. Interestingly, most of the big sellers are Zinfandel-based. That said, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah are like chocolate and peanut butter to us so for our first Truett Hurst red blend, Dragonfly, we use them both. Finally, to add a little interest, wild game and earthiness, we add some Syrah. The resulting wine is decadent in both flavor and aroma.

Tasting Notes

Ripe red fruit aromas are complimented by exotic spice and flavors of Bing cherry extract meld perfectly with fresh cracked black pepper and moderate tannin structure.

  • Red Field Blend 40% Petite Sirah, 30% Zinfandel, 30% Syrah
  • Drink now or hold for up to 15 years
